Sliding sunroof kits (ragtops) have been around for decades, none more popular than the Sunway by Weathershield of England. These sliding ragtops later morphed into the better know Britax brand and underwent a “modernization".
Today, these brands are long gone. Always popular in Europe, sliding ragtops (or folding sunroofs) found their way to the North American market in huge numbers in the early 1970’s when they were installed with the blessings of vehicle manufacturers into cars by AMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Studebaker and General Motors. Models included the Nova Skyroof and the Buick Skylark Suncoupe.
Several years back, we unearthed a cache of original kits in original boxes and still have a few left. Sunway, (aka Britax and Weathershield) sliding ragtops (folding sunroofs) are in stock in two sizes. The smallest was their part number “3024" which represented the size of the hole in your roof required for installation (30w x 24"l).
The Sunway 3024 requires a hole size of 30" x 24" and when closed and latched measures close to 34" x 27".
If you are restoring an original muscle car or vintage vehicle that came with a “stock" sliding ragtop installed, we might have the parts you need to complete the project. If you need a complete kit, as mentioned, we have a few left complete and in original boxes.
Feel free to call us at 1(602)410-4332. Let's work together to figure out what you need and hopefully we can find a fit.
