(vi) Note: Fitting of Sunroofs Larger than 3030
Details
Cars fitted with 3036 and 3336 Folding Roofs have to have side stiffener plates fitted. These are supplied flat and must be formed to fit between the aperture and cant rail, notched edge to go to the aperture approx. half way between the front and the rear of aperture. In the case of the Maxi. this has two side stiffeners each side, (see fig. 5).
(g) STEP 11. Re-Trimming of Car
Details
Relocate interior light if necessary.
NOTE
If interior light has been repositioned, make sure that the wires are fastened back to stop chattering against the cant rail.

(h) STEP 12.
Glue along the aperture and edge of lining, stretch headlining over aperture making sure that no wrinkles are in the headlining. Trim off excess headlining over aperture leaving approx. ½” along edge (see fig. 8). Most have seams sewn at the listing rails. Where there is double thickness, cut to single thickness to allow the side rails to pass over.

(ix) Fitting Front Rail
Details
Front and side rails have to be formed to suit the sweep of the car. This can be done by hand by bending round a wooden former. Before fitting front aluminium rail place section on body centrally within the aperture. Drill through two holes in centre using holes in rail as guide. Place loose pop rivets to hold in position and mark through section the position of the other holes. Remove rail and drill through marked positions taking care to remove swarf from body spread Dum-Dums along inner face of front rail, e.g., face that goes to body top, replace rail and rivet into position. Rivet steel angle with attached deflector to front rail using metal bar for location (see fig 91

IMPORTANT
All Front Stiffeners have a cut-out which is off-set from center as shown:— care must be taken to ensure this cut-out is not centered on car . Rear Stiffeners have no cut-out.
